“On This Day” is a new feature on Facebook that tells you what happened exactly one or two years ago. FB reports events, status messages and other updates that you and your friends made in previous years on the present date. Well, not really. The feature was launched in 2011 but it is being rolled out very slowly and there are a lot of FB users around the world who still haven’t seen it. It is new for those who see it for the first time when their account gets updated. Apparently, On This Day shows updates only up to 2009. Currently, the information about what happened on present date during last years, is shown on this right hand side bar. It is not so far clear on what basis FB chooses to display this information but many users are seeing it while browsing through a photo album. First of all, this being a new feature, Facebook is in process of rolling it out on all its servers. The server where FB account resides may not have been updated so far and that’s why you are not seeing on this day information. So, just wait for some time. Secondly, this information is not displayed on all the pages in Facebook. As we said before, it remains unclear as to how and on which pages the information comes. As time will progress, things will become clearer.
